Fantastic opportunity for a Maternity Nurse Unit Manager to work with a leading private hospital based in Tasmania.Curis Recruitment is excited to partner with this fantastic private hospital based in Tasmania to help them find an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to lead their maternity service.
  
The right candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who enjoys the challenges of a growing service. You will work in close liaison with key stakeholders to provide innovative care options for mothers and neonates. 
  
This Hospital has 146 inpatient beds and 10 day beds. For over 20 years they have provided a range of clinical services including general and specialty medical and surgical services, obstetrics, cardiology and angiography and a 24 hour Emergency Department.
  
The Maternity suites are designed on the contemporary labour/deliver/recover model and fitted with state-of-the-art technology, including K2 fetal monitoring systems, and provide a variety of resources that can be used during childbirth including a bath for water immersion, birth balls, mats and stools.

Some of the main duties of your role will be to:

• Provide direct patient care and provide instruction and assistance to less experienced nursing team members.
• Provide leadership and direction to the unit to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital.
• Provide organizational guidance to the team to ensure coherent and  productive management of the area and facilitate the delivery of    nursing care.
• Responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensuring customer service is maintained at optimal levels.

To be eligible for this position you must: 

• Have current Registration with AHPRA
• Relevant Post Graduate or Diploma or working towards obtaining one
• Ideally have extensive experience working as a midwife as well as management experience
• Must be able to communicate effectively
• Must have a strong management style to be able to grow and develop the team successfully
