Who are we

Who are we

Curis is a privately owned recruitment agency where the team has over 13 years healthcare recruitment experience.

We often get asked how our name come about? The name Curis means ‘healthcare’ in Latin.

At Curis Recruitment we find fantastic nurses great places to work. Our focus is on permanent and fixed term positions within Australia with a strong emphasis on remote and rural areas who struggle to find the right staff.

Curis Recruitment was started when our Founder and Managing Director, Elissa discovered the need for a nursing agency who took the time to listen and really partner with the hospital and job seeker rather than treating them like a number. We can promise you that we are ethical, friendly and a no nonsense agency who helps nurses get the right role for them that matches exactly what they are looking for in their next position.

Our Team

Our team consists of a Managing Director, Accounts and IT Manager, Recruitment Consultants for all states within Australia and a Recruitment Administrator. We recruit for all Permanent and fixed term Nursing, Midwifery, Nurse Unit Manager, Clinic Manager, Director of Nursing etc positions across all states and have dedicated Recruitment Consultants who are specialists on the state that they focus on.

Our Managing Director and Founder, Elissa has over 13 years healthcare recruitment experience and a real passion for helping Nurses find a position that truly matches what they are looking for in their next career move.

Elissa commenced her recruitment journey working within a Hospital in New Zealand where she placed Doctors from all levels into new positions. Working within a hospital setting gave her a real insight into the challenges that a hospital faces in finding the right staff.

Bringing this internal recruitment experience to Australia to work within a private recruitment agency setting she then utilised this insight in order to help Hospitals right around Australia with their doctor recruitment specialising in junior and middle grade doctors of all specialties.

Following on from working with doctors for 8 years Elissa then decided to embark on a new journey within healthcare and launched a nursing division for another private healthcare agency. Elissa focussed on placing nurses into permanent and fixed term positions and soon realised that this is where her passion lies.

Elissa says “I love working with nurses across all levels and specialties. Seeing them in their dream position working in areas of Australia they never thought they would work in and thriving in these settings is what I love most about my job. My real passion is making sure that when I place a nurse into a new position it is 100% what they have told me they want out of their next position, it fits in with their career goals, the location is what they are looking for and it fits in with any family that will be moving with them. I have a particular interest in remote Australia and seeing communities where there was little or no healthcare available thriving after I have placed an excellent Nurse in their community to live and work with them to improve their health outcomes.”

Elissa is experienced at working on large recruitment projects with big city hospitals as well as smaller projects where it is just a one nurse post in some of the most remote areas of Australia.

Elissa loves connecting with hospitals and health centres to find them the right staff that match the skill mix required as well as the right personality for the job. She takes pride in doing thorough checks on each candidate she represents so that the healthcare facilities know that when they see a candidate from her they are getting the best in the market.
