Nursing Salary comparison by state

If you have ever thought about going on a working holiday travelling around Australia, then one of the questions you would have thought about is, what is the pay like in other states of Australia.

A lot of the nurses and midwives we work with choose to do 3 or 6 month contracts then head home for a month or so then hit the road again for another contract. What an amazing way to see our beautiful country, earn great money, and live an exciting life where every 3-6 months you get to start a fresh new job, have a new place to explore and meet new people.
To give you an idea of salaries in each state there is a breakdown below, please note that this is base pay only and for government sectors, private, NGO’s etc would pay slightly different.
